Africa’s Symphony- A melody of Strength and Beauty
Africa’s Symphony-A melody of Strength and Beauty
The mother of humanity
Bid by “Mtu ni watu” ethos
Isolating no-one, uniting everyone
For a diverse, harmonious Africa
The beauty of “Ubuntu,” apparent in every soul
An epitome of mother Africa
Its essence
captured in diverse cultures
A path paved by
those who journeyed
From telling
stories by the firelight
To practicing
rites of passage rituals
The “Mukandi”
of Zimbabwe, “Umumelo” of the Zulus and “Olufuko” of Aawambo
Our rhythm
echoes through the Congo Basin
Transcending
with the soft spirit whispers of the Nile River
A majesty of
picturesque panorama
Mother Africa’s
vistas will leave you speechless
In the arid
lands of the Namib’s embrace, Welwitschia Mirabilis thrives
Look at the
mountains, Africa’s silent giants
Rising proudly
in their silent strength
A landmass
blessed with whispering dancers of the sea
Look at the big
5, nature’s untamed spirits
Gracefully
meandering nature’s ancient symphony
Underneath
Africa’s embrace
Lies ancient
treasures of exquisite value
Dazzling jewels
and luxurious bullion of gold, glow in perfection
Home to fertile
lands
Where dreams
take roots and flourish
Cassava, Mutete
and Mahangu fields yield their bounty
A song of
abundance and whispers of prosperity
Despite the
weight of history’s chains
Like the mighty oak, Africans bend but never break
Motherland
rising amongst all its adversities
Its beauty
invited unwelcomed shadows, masters of foreign lands
They came
wielding the bible, guised as messengers of divine words
Labelling our
Afrocentric elegance as primitive, demonic and in need of salvation
We embraced new
melodies, danced to rhythms of foreign winds
Blinded by
gleam, unseen schemes teem
In their quest
of binding Africa’s destiny as their own
A thunderous
voice of authority was unleashed.
Whipping out
firearms, reducing us to mere cotton-pickers
In the midst of
it all, Africa’s unwavering resilience stood firm.
Hymning songs
of enduring hope
African leaders
rose, warriors of justice, noble and pure
Kenyatta
shattered oppression chains; Mandela sought unity
Independence
blooms, like a wildflower in the savannah
Joyous rhythm echoes newfound freedom
